Calling businesses to compete in Retro Sports Day 2023

24 May 2023

You did it! We called upon businesses across Liverpool and the North West to take up the challenge of competing in this year's Torus Foundation Retro Sports Day 2023... and you came through!

24 teams are now signed up for this opportunity to get involved in an action-packed afternoon, while helping to support young people in our communities.

Retro Sports Day taking place on 13th July 2023 - promises to be a fun-filled afternoon, providing you and your team of four, with the chance to get competitive while networking alongside Torus group members such as HMS and Torus Developments and fellow businesses across the North West.

Enjoy a classic school sports day with activities and a few fun twists along the way, while fundraising for a fantastic cause!

We have an ambitious fundraising target to raise £10,000 at our Retro Sports Day 2023, raising money to help us continue to deliver essential youth services.

Kate Shone, Managing Director Torus Foundation explains,

"Our first Retro Sports Day held last year was a fantastic success. It was brilliant to welcome many local companies getting involved having fun and networking, all while helping to raise essential funds that went on to help young people achieve their aspirations. This year we hope to have an even bigger impact with your help."

FireFit Youth and Community Hub

As the charitable arm of growth and regeneration group, Torus, Torus Foundation is proud to provide a varied programme of support for some of the country’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods. This year’s event will raise money for FireFit Youth and Community Hub, the cornerstone of Torus Foundation.

This summer also marks 10years of the Hub providing engaging activities and support for young people and the wider community.

  ### Supporting communities

FireFit Youth and Community Hub is a place where young people feel safe and secure, have a sense of belonging, feel trusted, respected and listened to. As a result of the current cost of living crisis, Torus Foundation made the decision to help reduce some of the stress for families, by removing all entrance fees for young people accessing facilities at FireFit and to also provide free hot food to those young members.

Since introducing the support, the team engage with 145 young people on average each night, as well as welcoming the wider community to the Hub's Warm Hub sessions.

With your support, we can continue to provide even more young people with access to free activities at FireFit Hub!

Team Tickets are £400 and include:

  • A team of 4 people full access to the event held at FireFit in South Liverpool
  • Food and refreshments throughout the afternoon
  • Trophies for the winning teams
  • A complimentary drink at our Celebration Event
  • An afternoon of making memories, team building and networking with other businesses
