Springing into action in one of our Warrington neighbourhoods
02 April 2026
Torus Group worked with local partners to make a difference to our Valiant and Vulcan neighbourhoods.
Coinciding with the Great British Spring Clean campaign, our colleagues worked with Cheshire Police, Warrington Borough Council Community Safety Team, representatives from the local MP’s office, three Warrington ward councillors and two teams from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, including their community prevention officers and officers from Warrington Fire Station.
Since the Great British Spring Clean started in 2016, people taking part have pledged to pick up more than 4.5 million bags of litter. Working together across our Group to create sustainable, thriving neighbourhoods where people want to live were colleagues from our Neighbourhoods and Assets Teams, Torus Foundation and HMS.
Val Guard, Neighbourhood Officer, said:
“It’s really important that Torus colleagues and partner agencies are out and about in our neighbourhoods. In previous Impact Days, we have been able to find out if people might need a little extra help and signpost them to support.
“This Impact Day was no exception. Not only were 4 vans' worth of rubbish and fly-tipping removed, along with 20 litter-pick bags. But colleagues and partners also made inspection appointments, carried out health and safety surveys, and talked to people in the community about any concerns they had.
“Sometimes, it’s that little boost of human contact that makes all the difference to people’s lives. It gets them back on track and helps them stay in the place where they live.
“Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the day.”
