Torus Group apprentices recognised at awards ceremony

14 February 2025

Apprentices and mentors from across the Torus Group were recognised during an awards ceremony this National Apprenticeship Week.

The One Torus Apprenticeship Awards event, celebrating the Group’s apprentices, mentors, and managers, was held at The Learning Foundry in Liverpool on Thursday, 13 February 2025.

Colleagues from the Group’s entities, including Torus, HMS and Torus Developments, were nominated by their peers in six categories: Apprentice of the Year, Rising Star, Positive Impact, Personal Growth and Development, Manager of the Year and Mentor of the Year.

Walking away with the main prize of Apprentice of the Year was Erin McElwee. Working as an Apprentice Scheduler for Torus Group’s contractor, HMS, Erin was nominated for her ‘exceptional customer service skills’, ‘proactive approach to challenges’ and a ‘willingness to help others’.

Kim Dillon, Torus Group Head of People said:

“Investing in apprenticeships not only cultivates a skilled workforce but also promotes innovation and creativity within our organisation, ensuring a sustainable future whilst also being aligned with the organisations core values and culture.

“As a HR professional I feel proud to work for an organisation that offers apprenticeship opportunities as it demonstrates our commitment to developing future talent, investing in our communities, and fostering a culture of learning whilst helping individuals gain valuable skills and experience in their chosen field.”
