Top ratings again for Torus from the Regulator of Social Housing

18 December 2023

This month, the Regulator of Social Housing has, once again, provided Torus Group with a commendable Governance and Viability rating of G1/V1 following its annual stability check. This reflects Torus's unwavering commitment to sound governance and financial strength.

The stability check, a routine examination conducted annually on housing providers with 1,000 or more properties, serves as a financial health assessment.

Torus underwent a thorough evaluation of its business plan and annual accounts, securing its position as a financially robust entity capable of navigating unforeseen challenges.

Commenting on the outcome, Steve Coffey, Torus Group Chief Executive, said:

"We take pride in maintaining our G1/V1 status and being recognised again by the Regulator as a well-governed and financially sound organisation, particularly in the face of ongoing challenges.

“The Stability Check serves as a comprehensive evaluation, ensuring not only regulatory compliance but also assessing Torus's unwavering commitment to the Value for Money Standard. Our steadfast dedication to upholding elevated standards and financial viability establishes a robust foundation, empowering us to actively pursue our mission of Growing Stronger Communities.

"This reaffirmation of Torus's high ratings is a testament to the ongoing work of all colleagues, our Landlord Operations Committee, and our Board."

The results have been published on the Regulator of Social Housing website.
