Torus tenants meet The Housing Ombudsman
29 April 2024
This month involved tenants from Torus and a host of other Social Housing Providers met The Housing Ombudsman.
Hosted by Regenda, the event in Liverpool, looked to raise the awareness and understanding of the Ombudsman service among residents.
The two-hour event included an introduction to the Code of Practice for Complaints from Housing Ombudsman Richard Blakeway and Ombudsman Chief Operating Officer, Andrea Keenoy.
The Ombudsman took questions ranging from damp and mould discussing the second consultation on Awaabs’ Law, communication methods and support for diverse households and those with additional needs.
Annmarie Flynn, Torus Tenant Voice Team Leader, said:
“It was a great opportunity for our involved customers to find out more about the Ombudsman and have the opportunity to ask questions about what they do.
“The event offered tenants the opportunity to get a real flavour of the Ombudsman service and the recourse tenants have.
“Our involved tenants enjoyed the session and felt it was ‘an informative and interesting experience’.”
The Housing Ombudsman considers complaints from social housing residents across all regions of England so they are keen to reach as many local communities as possible by holding sessions in a different region each time.
