Customers grab a coffee with Coffey

02 November 2022

Last month saw our Tenant Voice team bring together a groups of involved customers to take part in two, one-on-one sessions with Torus Chief Executive, Steve Coffey.

The customers from all three heartlands are members of our various customer panels, including the Landlord Operations Committee (LOC), Scrutiny, Repairs, Community Investment Fund, Complaints, Diversity & Inclusion and Tenant Inspectors.

The open question and answer session gave the tenants the opportunity to quiz the Torus CEO, who was joined by Torus Chief Operating Officer, Cath Murray-Howard and Group Housing Director, Paul Warburton, on a range of topics ranging from rents and cost of living, lettings policy, developments, the green agenda and reducing carbon, Neighbourhood and Environmental services.

After the sessions, Steve Coffey commented.

“It was great to see so many of our involved tenants in these session. It is vital that we hear, first-hand, from our tenants about the services that we provide – both the good stuff and where we can improve.

This level of transparency and accountability is at the heart of Torus because we really care about what we can do to have a positive impact upon the lives of tenants and other customers.

I am looking forward to having more sessions in the future.”

Paul Warburton added:

“Tenant involvement and listening to customers is extremely important because it's their homes, communities and services that we are dealing with.

“At Torus, we are committed to giving our tenants greater involvement and influence over our services and activities. It was great to see everyone face-to face and it was a good session with good valuable comments. We have taken away several issues and suggestions, which we will look at and feedback.”

Our customers also gave their views on the session:

Tenant Inspector and Complaints panel member Ray S from St Helens said:

“What a great morning it was meeting everyone and giving our opinions to Steve Coffey. It was very interesting and went very well. Thank you to the team for a successful event and I look forward to more in the coming future.”

Tenant Inspector and Diversity Inclusion Panel member, Thomas from Liverpool, added:

“It was a really good productive meeting, and I am looking forward to more in the future.”

We are looking at putting on more sessions in the future to allow more involved customers the opportunity to have their say and have questions answered.

We value diversity and are keen to achieve diversity and inclusion in how we deliver resident involvement. If you are interested in getting involved with Torus and making a difference by having your say on improving services, please contact the Tenant Voice team on 0800 678 1894 or email tenantvoice@torus.co.uk.
