Celebrating our involved customers at our Involved Customer Conference 2026

29 October 2026

In September, we welcomed involved customers to Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium to meet with Torus colleagues, review the successes of the last year, and look ahead at the next 12 months.

The day was opened by Torus Group Chief Executive, Steve Coffey, who spoke about the operating environment for Torus and the importance of the tenant’s voice within this.

The conference recognised customers for the difference they have made over the last year through panels, Tenants and Resident Associations, and other involved activities.

Through sessions, attendees worked alongside Torus senior leaders to make sure the voice of the customer was central in our renewed Tenant Voice strategy, neighbourhood pilot project and new landlord strategy.

The core of the conference was our involved tenants and customers. Involved tenants - Thomas Case, Hannah Shaw, and Kirsty Lucas - were gracious enough to share their experiences as panel members. This included why they got involved, the skills they felt they had gained, and advice for future members considering getting involved.

Rounding off the day was our Volunteer Recognition and Awards, hosted by Chief Operating Officer, Catherine Murray Howard. Congratulations to our winners:

  • Community Champion – Kirsty Lucas
  • New Volunteer of the Year – Lynne Powell
  • Tenant Voice Award – Ugo Eme
  • Collaboration Award – Peter Byrne and Paul Flannery
  • Tenant and Resident Association Contribution Award – Lynda Buckley
  • Long Service Recognition – Pam Woodward
  • Outstanding Contribution – Hannah and Lee Shaw

Torus Group Chief Executive, Steve Coffey commented:

“Our Involved Customer Conference is one of the highlights of my year. The best people to tell us how we can improve are the people actually using our service – our customers. Our Involved Customer Conference is a great opportunity for us to hear the ideas and opinions of our most involved tenants, leaseholders and customers and, most importantly, thank them for their invaluable input.”

Catherine Murray Howard, Chief Operating Officer added:

“If it wasn’t for customers volunteering their time, expertise and perspective, we couldn’t do what we do. The involvement of our customers isn’t just optional; it’s critical to us doing what we need to do and improving every day.”
