Festive fun at our supported living schemes

14 December 2022

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, with colleagues in Support Network and Foundation sprinkling our supported living schemes with festive stardust and helping the residents get into the Christmas spirit.

This month there have been parties in our Sheltered schemes as well as lots of creative crafts, with residents making their own Christmas table decorations. Over at our Extra Care schemes, residents have enjoyed performances from local schools and visits from Santa Claus!

Scheme Facilities in Support Network said:

“I have never put up so many Christmas Trees! But it is worth it to see the residents having such a lovely time and enjoying themselves.”

Residents at O’Connell Close Sheltered Scheme in St Helens welcomed the children of Leigh Vale primary school who belted out the Christmas carols with actions to match and we can confirm that there was not a dry eye in the house and a brilliant day was had by all.

Over in Newton, Heald Farm Court Extra Care enjoyed a special performance from Lymewood Primary School, from their choir and brass band.

Harpers Green Extra Care residents in Warrington had a special visit from Santa Claus and Gerrard the Elf, with lots of excited grandchildren telling him what they want for Christmas. Whilst in St Helens, Foundry Wharf Extra Care residents have also been treated to carols and music from the children Merton Bank Primary School and St Augustines High School.

Thanks to everyone and our local communities, for making this time of year special for our older and more vulnerable residents, now and throughout Christmas.

Over the festive period, Torus colleagues from Support Network will be spending the festive season making sure our older and vulnerable customers in our schemes, Refuge and communities continue to remain safe this Christmas. The Care Teams will remain on-site 24/7 in our Extra Care schemes, with Housing staff on-site between Christmas and New Year.

Managers in our Sheltered Schemes will be on-site providing cover and our Support Network Managers are also providing 24-hour cover for all our supported living schemes over the whole of the Christmas period, whilst the Staying Home Team will be on duty checking for emergencies and dealing with welfare concerns. You can find out more about our festive services here.

If you, or someone you know is looking to downsize, or just planning for retirement, our schemes are the ideal environment. We offer a range of housing options for the over 55s, find out more here.
