Spinnaker House Extra Care scheme will offer modern homes for people over 55 on the Wirral. The scheme is part of the wider Manor Park Development, located on the site of the former high school in Rock Ferry.
In addition to the 102 one- and two-bedroomed apartments at the scheme, there are 57 other new homes, including apartments, bungalows and family houses on the site.
The opportunity
The proposal is that a hairstylist will have a low-cost lease for the hairdressing salon and will be able not only to provide hairdressing and beauty services for the residents on site but also to the public.
The salon has been designed to a luxurious standard by interior designers and all the furnishings are of a very high quality.
The facilities will be presented ready furnished, decorated and all fixed equipment will be commissioned by us before you begin your service.
- The salon should provide primarily hairdressing, but could also provide other beauty services
- There is also the potential to use the salon to open to the public.
- The service must be available at least three days per week.
- Must provide a relaxed and happy atmosphere.

Torus have plans to open a further four Extra Care schemes over the next two to three years with Spinnaker House being the first of those, due to open spring 2024.

What is Extra Care housing?
Extra Care housing is designed to create a community where people can live an independent life in a socially supportive environment.
It is suitable for people over 55 who want to live in their own home, but have access to care and support services, if required.
The scheme consists of a variety of self-contained accommodation with communal facilities designed to enable people to engage in a full and active social life at a pace they are comfortable with. Offering on site activities and events to support ‘active ageing’ and health and wellbeing.
Schemes have an onsite 24-hour care and support provider contracted by the local Council and all apartments are equipped with telecare sensors.
Design to be part of the community, schemes offer Bistro Cafés and Salon facilities for on site for residents and public.
