Rent Changes: Don't forget to change your standing order
11 March 2024
Each February you receive a letter outlining details of any changes to your annual rent and service charge for the following year.
These changes come into effect on the first Monday in April of that year, so you need to make sure that if you pay by standing order, you update it to reflect the new charges.
When should I make the change to my standing order?
Only update the standing order after your March payment has been taken, but before the first Monday in April – for 2024, this is Monday 1 April 2024.
You need to amend the payment on your standing order so that, from Monday 1 April 2024, your new standing order covers your new rent and service charge.
If you have a debt on your account, you need to ensure that your new payment also includes any agreed repayment amount.
