Torus Apprenticeship Programme Shortlisted for National Award
15 December 2023
Torus is delighted to have been shortlisted in the FE Week & AELP AAC Apprenticeship Awards 2024 in the Apprentice Employer of the Year category!
Being recognised for our commitment to creating sustainable apprenticeship opportunities across the Group – including in our Landlord and Developments teams, Torus Foundation and HMS – the team is thrilled that our apprenticeship programme has already been recognised and shortlisted for this prestigious accolade.
As the North West’s largest provider of affordable homes, we have a large footprint across the region – both in the number of homes we repair, maintain and build as well as the number of people we employ and we are committed to retaining and building on the talent that exists in our communities and organisation.
Commenting on the news, Learning and Development Business Partner, Joanne Brown said: “We have 143 apprentices in our group. In the last year alone, we have recruited 43 new apprentices and have supported 1,331 people into employment and apprenticeships and we’re just getting started! I see, day in, day out, just how much of a difference apprenticeships make to people and I am proud to be part of an organisation that values and promotes apprenticeship opportunities.
“Being shortlisted is fantastic in and of itself as it shows the difference we are making to people on our apprenticeship programmes and that our dedication to building skills across the sector is making a positive impact on our communities.
“We want to keep local talent in the area and our apprenticeship programme has already seen hundreds of people trained up and we’re overjoyed to be creating a diverse, talented workforce that is ready and willing to help Torus take on the challenges the coming years will present in terms of using new technologies and hitting our carbon neutral goals.”
