Could you qualify for help to pay your rent?
If you're claiming housing benefit or the housing element of Universal Credit and are struggling to pay your rent, you might be able to get a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP).
Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP) are paid by your local Council, on a short-term basis, to help people who are having difficulty covering the cost of their rent.
You might get a DHP if you're affected by:
- The bedroom tax
