Steaming Ahead with Railway Hotel Redevelopment

14 February 2022

Further expanding our new build portfolio, we're thrilled to announce that we have been appointed to redevelop the former Railway Hotel site in Newton-le-Willows.

Working with affordable housing developer, Torus, the team will demolish the derelict building and build 15 news homes – 11 1-bedroom and 4 2-bedroom apartments – as part of the £1.8 million project, which started on site this month.

An ambitious development, Railway Hotel will see Team HMS once again create a modern new build scheme. Following the success of our new build projects in Liverpool and Wirral, our latest construction project will provide Earlestown with much-needed high quality housing.

Discussing the project, Construction Director, John Barrow, said: “This is an exciting project for HMS and one which will completely overhaul a disused site to create something that the community genuinely needs – unique, modern, affordable homes.

"Railway Hotel will see the team create a distinctive housing scheme that will catapult the site of the former Railway Hotel into the 21st century, and I for one, cannot wait to see it complete.”

Chris Bowen, Managing Director at Torus Developments, said: “HMS is our ‘go-to’ contractor for more complex build projects and Railway Hotel is the latest in a number of successful projects the team have completed, so we’re looking forward to seeing another derelict site brought back to life.”
