Neurodiversity Celebration Week at Torus

18 March 2024

At Torus, we know that an inclusive and supportive workplace will equip colleagues to serve our diverse customer base, which is why we’re proud to support Neurodiversity Celebration Week.

This global event is designed to increase understanding and acceptance, provide education, and celebrate the talents of neurodiverse minds, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD and others.

At Torus, we are shining a spotlight on the unique strengths and talents that neurodiversity brings to our organisation by hearing the experiences of our neurodiverse colleagues.

But Neurodiversity Celebration Week is more than us celebrating our individual and unique qualities, it’s also an opportunity for us to review what we, as an organisation, can do better.

One way we are making our workspaces more accessible is the introduction of coloured paper at all our office locations, enabling colleagues to print letters and information for themselves or any customers who may struggle with the contrast of black text on white paper.

As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, we're implementing initiatives to ensure our recruitment process is more accessible for candidates.

This Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we are committing to:

  • Continuing to challenge unconscious bias through further training for hiring managers and recruitment team members, making sure our decision-making processes continue to be fair.
  • Partnering with a wider range of organisations and recruitment platforms, to actively encourage talent from underrepresented groups and diverse backgrounds.
  • Updating our job descriptions to use more inclusive language and remove any unnecessary barriers.

We believe that by making our recruitment practices more inclusive, we will create a stronger, more innovative and dynamic team, making a place where everyone belongs.
