Torus is proud to present its Safeguarding Annual Report for 2023/24, detailing the significant efforts and achievements made in collaboration with Safeguarding Adults Boards, partner agencies, and specialist support services to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals experiencing abuse and neglect.
Commitment to Safeguarding
Our unwavering commitment to fostering a culture where safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility is at the heart of our work. This report showcases our dedication to protecting both adults and children from harm and highlights the comprehensive measures taken to create a safe environment for all.
Key Achievements
The report outlines several key achievements, including:
- Development of the colleague Domestic Abuse Champions Network: This initiative has continued to grow, providing crucial support and guidance within the organisation.
- Specialist training rollout: We have implemented specialist training for our employees and contractors, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle safeguarding issues effectively.
- New Domestic Abuse Housing Support service: We introduced this service to support tenants experiencing abuse, demonstrating our proactive approach to providing necessary assistance.
- Learning and development: Our approach to learning and development has been strengthened, contributing to multi-agency reviews and facilitating our own learning events to improve our practices continuously.
Spotlight on Key Events
We are also proud to highlight some of the key events held throughout the year, such as the Colleague Conference 2023. Additionally, the Safe2Speak team, commissioned to deliver specialist support to victims of domestic abuse in the borough of St Helens, continues to make a significant impact.
