Across Liverpool, St Helens, Warrington, and all areas where Torus operates, we know that many tenants and residents enjoy displaying flags and decorations to show pride in their identity, especially during international sporting events, national celebrations and remembrance occasions. These expressions are a valued part of community life when they are respectful and inclusive.

However, we’ve recently seen an increase in displays linked to migration-related issues. Some of these have caused concern, with tenants and colleagues reporting feelings of intimidation or exclusion.

Torus is proud to serve diverse communities across the North West. We stand firmly against racism, intolerance and hate. We are committed to building neighbourhoods that are safe, welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

We trust our tenants to act respectfully and responsibly. If you see or experience something that causes concern, such as offensive flags, graffiti or messages please let us know.

We will investigate and take appropriate action in line with our Anti-Social Behaviour Policy and tenancy agreements.

Together, we can ensure that homes and communities across the Liverpool City Region and beyond remain places where everyone feels safe, respected and supported.
